Ken and the other members of SEES utilize the power of Persona, powerful creatures described as being its users true self. For explanation's sake, they're monster-like things that dwell in the psyche of those with the Potential and can be called forth to be used in battle. SEES uses a gun-like item called an Evoker (reference one, two) to summon their Persona by "shooting" themselves in the head with it and shattering the barrier between their psyche and the outside world (fun!). Ken's initial Persona was Nemesis, but after character development reaching his Resolution on October 6th, he awakened his new and final Persona, Kala-Nemi (reference).

Kala-Nemi is immune to all light-based attacks but weak to darkness-based attacks (Ken himself also has the same immunity/weakness), and it is also capable of using light- and electricity-based skills as well as a number of recovery skills.
